The National Heirloom Expo
featuring
Demeter’s Biodynamic Garden and Lounge

Please join us at the 3rd annual National Heirloom Exposition, where members of the Biodynamic community produce a 10,000 square foot exhibition, Demeter’s Biodynamic Garden and Lounge, in the heart of the Expo grounds.
The Heirloom Expo, produced by the Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company and the Petaluma Seed Bank, has generated enormous interest and support amongst gardeners, farmers, school groups, and the general public, and is now a significant voice in the worlds of heirloom and artisan food and products, non-GMO, and sustainable farming. This year’s event is expected to draw close to 20,000 people from all over the country. With emphasis on the increased awareness of label GMO campaigns, there will be a particularly large presence of pure food advocates, truth in labeling activists, and many more interested in promoting healthy living. Over 100 speakers will give a variety of informative and educational presentations on subjects as diverse as seed saving, GMOs, home gardening, food politics and policy, farming, marketing local foods, and more. The outstanding line up includes Vandana Shiva, Patrick Holden, Jeffrey Smith, Ronnie Cummins, and Andrew Kimbrell.
The Expo provides a natural home for Demeter and its advocacy of Biodynamic® agriculture, sharing the same values of sustainable agriculture and healthy food, seed saving and sharing, and zero tolerance for GMO’s. Interest in Biodynamic farming is on the rise, especially in Northern California where there are over 40 Demeter certified and in transition Biodynamic farms, vineyards and wineries. Demeter’s Biodynamic Garden & Lounge provides an integrated educational experience of Biodynamic farming and gardening in a fun and welcoming atmosphere.
The Garden and Lounge includes:
- Beautiful Demonstration Gardens that call out Biodynamic principles and practices
- Classes and panel discussions running every hour through the exposition (21 total classes) featuring experts in Biodynamic farming and gardening
- A photography installation by Amanda Lane highlighting Biodynamic beekeeping
- A relaxing lounge hosted by members of the Biodynamic community and featuring the Guayaki Biodynamic® Mate Latte Bar
Expo tickets are just $10 per day, or $25 for all three days. Entrance to Demeter’s Biodynamic Garden & Lounge, and all its classes, is free. What a great deal! Come on by, take some classes, relax in our lounge. We look forward to welcoming you there!
